When we are young we have too much of it, when we are older we can't get enough of it. What really is "energy" and how can we create energy in our own lives? Do we have to keep waiting for energy-filled days or are there proactive steps we can take to create more energy? The good news is that there are proactive steps to create more energy. The even better news is that I am going to share them with you and challenge you to take a few!

One common mistake people make is thinking that the only way to get more energy is to create healthy lifestyle changes that revolve around food and fitness. While that is one area we will cover that does dramatically influence energy--it is far from the only one. There are different types of energy and different sources of energy. Physical energy is influenced by our daily lifestyle habits, but there is also Emotional Energy, Production Energy, and Spiritual Energy, all of which can bring more zest and productivity to your days.

First, these four classifications aren't "official classifications." I made these names based on the research that I have been doing. It seemed that these four "groups" encompassed the energy-triggers I was uncovering. My working definition of energy is, "a feeling or personal power that allows us to continue positive production or perusal of the need-to-do tasks in our lives."

Emotional Energy and "The Second Wind"

Have you ever been really tired and then pushed yourself to go do something anyway? Perhaps it was a dinner with a friend or attending a talk or lecture? Somewhere inside that period, the tiredness disappears and is replaced by what we often call "a second wind." That "second wind" is energy that you are producing. It isn't something you have to wait for, you can produce that energy at any time once you understand the steps that created it in the first place.

Discovering emotional energy: This energy is derived from something that sparks our emotions or our passions. We receive new information, or hear old information in a new way. Or perhaps we are around someone who emulates energy, and their passion excites the energy within us.

Caution: Remember that energy fluctuates, so as easily as you can build it - you can also destroy it. There is no quicker way to become tired than spending time around negative people or listening to negative news. All stimulus influences our energy one way or the other. Watch for stimulus that are influencing your energy levels negatively. Example: Watching a round of Headline News will catch you up on the day's Headlines. But does watching additional programming help or hinder? What about reading? Are your choices uplifting and inspiring more energy or are they energy sappers?

Put it into Practice: To use Emotional Energy in your everyday life, you need to discover what produces this energy for you personally. Create a page in your notebook for listing your energy-producers. Here are a few that are on my list:

1. Read positive feedback or notes I have received from readers.

2. Have coffee, dinner or lunch with someone who I find inspiring.

3. Read a book that I find inspiring or motivational--something that really "speaks" to me.

4. Make sure I start my day off with positive emotional energy through my "Good Morning" routine.

5. Ask myself each morning, "Who do I want to be today?" and then remain personally accountable for being the best "me" possible.

Physical Energy

Of course we can't "talk" about energy without including the physical element. However, if you are overwhelmed by the thought of a new health plan, keep reading. Little changes can make a big difference in your energy production. Many of us are aware of the "big steps" we should take, so I have tried to focus on little changes that make a big impact. If you would like an overview of the big changes, I really recommend spending a few minutes at this site: [http://www.agingresearch.org/calculator/]

I saw expert Thomas Perls on CNN with Larry King and found his research quite interesting and revealing. This free, online test is a great way to look at the "gaps" in your life. Odds are where you fall short on the health score are many of the same areas where you can improve and create more energy. This is an online life-expectancy calculator that is geared around his study of "Living to 100." It is very comprehensive and the results are equally comprehensive. This does a great job of tackling the "big areas" and some of the little areas, too.

Now let's look at some other physical areas and break down positive changes you can easily make:

Somebody bring me some water: As many of you know, I am leading a 2006 Goal Group. We have been discussing health/water/energy. A member submitted this link which is a wonderful resource for understanding your unique water needs. It includes a formula for learning how much water you need based on your specific weight. http://www.naturodoc.com/library/nutrition/water.htm

Your personal zzzz quota: Recent research shows that the optimum amount of sleep is 7.2 hours. However, some people still need more and others need less. Figuring out your own personal quota can go a long way toward regulating your energy. Ideally you want to get the same amount of sleep each night to maintain optimum energy levels (you should also go to bed at the same time each night). Discovering your "zzz quota" takes a bit of work, but is well worth it. (Besides, how else will you get the permission to practice sleeping?) Before beginning, make sure you are not completely drained or fatigued otherwise you are going to overcompensate on your sleep. Spend a week getting more sleep so you are "fresh" to begin your study. Then for one week, go to bed EARLY enough that you can wake up naturally without an alarm clock. Write down how long you sleep for each of the 7 days, then average it out. This is your personal "zzz quota." Keep in mind this can change depending on what you are going through in your life, so it is good to "re-check" once or twice per year.

Sleep preparation: Make sure that you stop eating at least 3 hours prior to going to sleep to allow everything to digest. Avoid caffeinated beverages after dinner. Make your room "sleep friendly" by turning off the television and playing relaxing music.

The affects of food: Since food is our primary energy source, it makes sense that good food will produce good energy and poor choices will effect us negatively. Reduce refined sugar in your diet as much as possible. Avoid meals that are high in carbs during the second half of the day and focus instead on protein. Protein provides more stable energy than carbs which keep our body going like a roller coaster!

Reduce starches and breads: Bread, rolls, bagels, pasta -- starches often slow people down. Try going a week or two with minimal starches and see if this helps your energy level. You can conduct the same experiment with caffeine.

Pop those vitamins: At minimum take a good daily vitamin. While you may not see a huge change, over long term usage, this can help prevent many of the conditions that sap energy. The key here is consistency. Choose something you do daily and put your vitamins and a bottled water next to that item. Examples: next to car keys, toothbrush, coffee maker, computer.

Food patterns: Consider keeping a food journal to see how your energy fluctuates with your food consumption. Make adjustments to your food intake based on your discoveries. Remember that eating too little can be just as energy sapping as eating the wrong foods. Work on a balanced diet and don't forget your breakfast! Studies have shown that those who eat breakfast have more energy. If you have a hard time eating breakfast, find a simple solution. I often grab a breakfast bar on the go. A lean sandwich can also be made the night before and enjoyed in the morning. You don't have to eat "breakfast foods," but you do need to eat breakfast.

Exercise: You knew I would say it sooner or later! Getting your body moving is one of the quickest ways to increase energy. I love using my elliptical trainer and find that after I do so, I have extra energy to burn. Give any exercise program about 3 weeks to start giving you energy - the first three weeks can be tiring as we snap our bodies out of their comas! A recent Prevention article shared how doing just 10 minutes of LIGHT weight lifting repetitions caused a focus group to feel a 45% increase in their energy level. Pick up some light weights (5-10 pounds) at your local discount-mart and use them by your television at night.

Put it into Practice: It is important to recognize that energy isn't a "one size fits all" formula. I encourage you to experiment with each concept, paying attention to how it impacts your energy level. Choose one area to start with from the above list and schedule a "start date" on your calendar this coming week.

Productive Energy

One of my goal group participants was very surprised at her progress during her first week. While prior to the class she had felt unable to accomplish the simplest tasks, she now found herself completing her goal-centered to do lists -- and more! "How does that work?" she asked in a post to the support board.

This member discovered "productive energy." Aristotle said, "We become what we repeatedly do, excellence then is not an act, but a habit." When we repeatedly step forward, we propel ourselves forward even further. When we continually stand still, we dig a bigger rut. When we continually move backward, we dig a big hole.

To truly understand productive energy, think of a time when you were fatigued and then became inspired to do something. Perhaps it was reading a book, writing, or organizing, or completing pages in a scrapbook. Before you knew it, you looked at the clock and hours had passed--even though you were tired earlier. What changed? Well you didn't eat anything or exercise. The change was in what you were doing. Your attitude and productiveness elevated - thus elevating your performance and your energy.

Make a list ... and make sure to check it twice: The first step in building productive energy is to be focused on the right track. Have a clear list of what you want to accomplish with clear and attainable timelines. Make sure to star three items for the day that will allow you to feel good about the day regardless of what bumps pop up in your path.

Get started early: Make sure to start your action list early in the day to build momentum. If you have problems with procrastination, consider enrolling in our Procrastination Primer class.

Recharge: In order to be productive, you must have balance and that means learning what you personally need to recharge. Some people need quiet time each day, others just need a good night's rest. Discover what helps you recharge and work that it into your to-do lists.

Forget revving your engine and just go... The great thing about productive energy is you don't have to prepare or spend a lot of time thinking about it. Often we over-think and would be much better off following the Nike slogan. Push yourself over inaction and you'll discover that productive energy is ready and waiting for you whenever you need it.

Put it into Practice: Read through these four tips and "star" which seems to speak to you the most as a way to increase your Production Energy. Schedule time to work in that area this month.

Spiritual Energy

Spiritual energy can be thought of as "soul food." It isn't anxious or stress-filled motivation energy, but a calm and centered energy. Think of a time where you have experienced deep relaxation or a time where you have been moved by a sermon or religious reading/teaching. That centeredness is spiritual energy. The beauty of spiritual energy is that it is steady and fulfilling. It doesn't rely on "highs and lows" to keep recreating itself. It comes from listening instead of talking and "being present" instead of "trying to get somewhere else." Because this is a quiet and calm energy and doesn't shout loudly for our attention, it is often the most neglected. Finding "peace" seems like an "extra" that many of us don't have time to pursue. Yet, within that peace, lies an ever-renewing source of energy. I would dare say that living without it is dangerous--and trying to live well without it, quite difficult.

Qualify spiritual practice: What does spiritual practice mean to you? It could be daily time for reflection or meditation; or daily Bible study or religious reading or prayer time. Take some time to think of where you have found spiritual energy in the past and if you are making room for spiritual energy on a daily basis.

Make a pact: Make a pact with yourself not to starve yourself of this soul food. Remember this is a quiet energy that won't shout for your attention, so it is important to nourish and commit to it.

Keep a spiritual journal: Make entries of your spiritual practice time and record what you learn and discover. Use this as a source to return to again and again to inspire continued spiritual development.

Journal: Journal about what life means to you and the concept of "purpose." What is your purpose? At the end of your life, what do you want to have completed here on earth and why? Use your journal to keep in touch with your purpose. You can also try writing about what "personal peace," means to you.

Form a group: To stay on track with spiritual practice, consider a partner or group to touch base with on a regular basis.

Put it into Practice: Choose one of the above ideas to work with and schedule the time to do so on your calendar. I will also be teaching a class on 5 Steps of Personal Peace. Consider signing up if you are interested in the discovering sources of calm energy.

Your Turn: Make an energy action plan incorporating these different action steps into your life. Also, start an Energy Journal and take notes of what changes work for you and how your energy is influence by your efforts.

When we are born, we are born with 100% of our life force, but as we age, our Energy Stake dwindles. As we get older, our life force diminishes because we have accepted that this is the way it has to be and because we hold on to:

- Our untruths (fear motivators rather than self-love and self-acceptance motivators)

- Attachment to outcomes (expectations)

- Self-deceptions (judgments, lack of compassion and inacceptance of things such as they are with total detachment)

and

- Emotional backlogs (e.g. from family and from previous lives or karmic debts).

The Line of Shadow or Illusion is the energy stake on the left is the shadow or unconscious energy reservoir, which increases as we grow older, reducing the energy stake on the right, which is the percentage of life force we consciously work with.

I have understood for a while now that energy is not positive or negative: it just is. I also know through the Theory of Relativity of Einstein that energy can't be created or destroyed, only transformed.

So I have came to the conclusion that, if we have a shadow self, then we have an untapped reservoir of energy or life savings that we are not using, at least productively or efficiently. That is, giving us the highest possible interest.

With all this information, I decided to engage in a conscious, disciplined, persistent and faithful activity of taking chunks out of my shadow self and transforming them into light, or life force, or conscious energy. This is one way to firstly, slowing down your aging and secondly, developing your potential. Reading newspapers stories about oil prices and the general issue of energy sustainability, which is worrying humanity quite badly, I started to meditate on the connection between finances, inner energy and world energy.

Our bodies have energy cycles, just like the world financial markets move in cycles: it is astounding to see how markets that perform well for a cycle, just slow down at other times, while some other unexpected markets start booming. I always have found it fascinating how in any dire situation, there is always someone who sees the opportunity and benefits from it while others only see boom and gloom. And the link between the inner and outer energy cycles is what I found in the I Ching, or Ancient Chinese Oracle of Change: even though the outer manifestation of change may take different shapes depending on the historic era we may live in, the inner energy cycles are always the same throughout the history of the earth and humanity.

So I wanted to cash in or convert my shadow energy into good and usable currency. In doing so, I found the following distinctions:

Non-converted shadow energy is the equivalent of non-refined oil:

- It needs a lot of work to maintain it (high maintenance, low efficiency)

- It needs a lot of effort to extract (high input, low output)

- It needs a strong will or hard work (struggle, the opposite to flow)

- It creates a lot of stress (or being out of alignment with our life path)

In order to add this non-converted shadow energy into our sustainable energy stake or positive life force, one can use the following tools:

1. The Rod of relationships:

Every relationship mirrors something that we love or reject in ourselves. When we focus on the negative things we see in others, we are indulging our shadow self creating an energy drain or energy leak.

The only solution is to work on ourselves until we find the fear that underpins this manifestation of the loss of life force, which is merely the tip of the iceberg of our psyche, an attitude, and forgive it, understand it, release it and transmute it.

Automatically, this has the effect to make the problem or perception disappear because this is a holographic reality that exists only in our mind. So as we change our perception, the reality associated to it falls away. It is no longer a reminder that there is a chunk of energy waiting to be transmuted.

It is part of our cycles, an energy ebb which drags us backwards.

When we fight it, we struggle further to maintain it. You can't resist it; only go along with it until the cycle is over and the energy is ready to return to your system, healed or converted into a further test at a higher level of consciousness.

2. The Hook of resonance:

Every feeling or emotion is a resonance guiding you where your untapped energy reservoir is.Negative energy is very costly energy; it takes a lot of effort to maintain because it is not in integrity or alignment with our Highest Self or Highest Potential. It is what I call an untruth, a false belief, which has not been integrated in our system, and it takes conscious or unconscious manipulation to keep it existing, to hold it together.

Positive energy is highly refined energy with which we can work and creates a flow of synchronicities in our lives that liberates us to ex-press who we are. It continuously expands in order to show us new possibilities. It is self-maintaining and creates momentum and motivation.

It is an energy flow which pushes us forwards. All it wants from us is that we open up our Heart Chakra or Heart Centre, in order to become aware of the wonders gifted to us, and create a self-ful(l)-fill-ing vibration of gratitude and love (the only energy that really is).

In order to understand the cycles of energy and money, one should be advised to follow the Ancient Teachings and observe the Moon cycles. These affect our energy tides and teach us how to work with them. As we synchronise our patterns and rhythms with those of the earth and the Universe in general, our lives align themselves into synchronicities.

We are children of the Earth and without her electro-magnetic energies, we lose out a generative and unlimited free energy source. E.g. when we walk in nature we heal; when we breathe, we oxygenate our system, which wakes up our cells and organs. In nature, we assimilate the energy of the sun-light and moon-light, especially during sunsets and sun rises, which charge our life-force field with prana.

So what I realised is that all this work I have now been doing for many years was to prepare my earth body for the job I came here to do.

While I was living in the UK I spent the first 7 years reading a compilation of books called Mysteries of the Unknown. I felt compelled to read them all the time and I believe that at the time their purpose was to open my mind.

After working on my mind for those years, I grew out of the then existing marriage and the time came to dissolve it. This pushed me to find my inner strength: I realised that I could never rely on anyone else to give me what I needed, since everyone else is fighting for their own energy survival, and so I started to work on my spiritual path. For the next 10 years (and now for the rest of my life!) I worked on my spiritual self, and for about 6 of these years I was working on my emotional self.

All of this created a need in me to ground all the work so far done and the higher energies I had downloaded. Hence, it was time to come to a country of high spiritual energy and, after 17 years in the UK, I moved to South Africa. I knew intuitively that this would give me an opportunity to integrate all these higher energies at all levels of being. And so I have spent the last couple of years integrating the Mind, Spirit and Emotional bodies that I had so far worked to develop. This is allowing me to create an manifest my life path in practical ways.

When I came to South Africa I felt compelled to read economy, business and finance intensely. This led me to understand that energy is a resource that needs to be worked with, saved, invested, carefully looked after, cleaned, etc. Just like we do with money. Just like we do with fuel. This expansive understanding has shifted my mind into feeling more empowered: suddenly, I feel rich in possibilities for highly refined, low cost personal or spiritual energy, which has transmuted the energy held in my shadow self into a general sentiment of empowerment, possibilities, entrepreneurship and other positive trends currently resonating with the focus of this writing.

The book Spiritual Alchemy, by Dr. Christine Page, helped me enormously as I understood the following energy shifts:

"There are 5 Drivers of Manifestation or five main fuel/forces that are used for most of our creative activities:

1. Instinctual, physiological, practically unconscious [...] Primarily survival-based. Energy cost: 95% outgoing, 5% in return. It is equivalent to fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil. Linked with foods that are processed or vitamins and minerals robbed of their connection with the earth.

2. Emotional mixed with lower psychic activity expressed as hoping, wishing, desiring, wanting; Semi-conscious. This energy is commonly used in power games where one person gains at the expense of another using large amounts of manipulation and the incitement of guilt, duty, anger, control, etc.

Always associated with large doses of expectation. Energy cost: 75% outgoing, 25% in return. (Energy is always lost despite an apparent win). It is equivalent to power from the denser form of the elements such as wind, solar, hydro- and hydrogen-based. Linked also with live foods that are recently taken from the soil, especially when organic and where they have been grown with your fair hands.

3. Mind power stimulating the mental body expressed through willing, trying, bargaining, believing or thinking; Employing increasing levels of conscious intention and working relationship between mind and body. Associated with the use of crystals, colour and sound. On a negative level [...] energy is lost through stubbornness and the tendency to lock horns with a similarly wilful individual. Energy cost: 50% outgoing, 50% in return. It is equivalent to power from breath, prayer, meditation, right thought [...] Nuclear power is a link between emotional and mental although we are still uncertain how to use this wisely.

4. Knowing from the place of the heart (compassion) and third eye (detached wisdom), expressed also as allowing, merging and flowing; the strength now comes from within and an expanding connection to the Universal flow of energy and consciousness. Personality and Soul work as one with clarity of perception, an intimate connection to "right" timing and an optimal use of energy without waste. Associated with symbols, sacred geometry and higher frequencies of light and sound. Energy cost: 25% outgoing, 75% in return. This exchange is dependent on right relationships and sacred reciprocity where there is a flow of energy without attachment. This is pure alchemy, with the ability to draw energy in through the pores of our being in the name of love or connection.

5. Being where there is no separation between ourselves and the Source; There just is! Enlightenment. Energy cost: 0% outgoing, 100% in return. It is equivalent to pure light energy. There is a constant supply of pure energy from the Source. No need for external energy as "fed" from within. Unification.

These fuels become more dense and faster as we move from "instinctual to being" emitting less pollution and hence offering greater benefits to the planet and our own spiritual well-being. The Ancient People would say that our aim is to move individually and as a race from the denser fuels to the lighter ones, reducing the amount of smog that prevents us from connecting on a deeper level".

Having understood and worked on the above information, I then came to the knowledge of the initiation of the anchoring of the Chris Consciousness, which requires a CRUCIFIXION: you are stripped of every single attachment to your material securities so that you can walk in balance without holding hands, just like a child who is learning to walk with the aid of his parents. I now feel very much not holding on to anything, just walking.

In my case, this Crucifixion took the following shape:

1. Letting go of external gurus and cutting the spiritual umbilical cord creating my own direct spiritual links.

2. Letting go of 17 years in the UK and the mentality gained there, having to open up my mind-set to new possibilities.

3. Letting go of my family in Spain and not being able to seeing them as often as I used to, especially my sister's children, who I miss so much! This forced me to work on clan and karmic automatic behaviour patterns.

4. Letting go of any remaining victim mentality and take control of my destiny, e.g. aligning with my life path.

5. Letting go of having to's and relaxing into enjoyment and acceptance of my present or gifts.

6. Letting go of making it or striving to make it and realizing that I have already arrived (because in fact, we are always there, so there is nowhere to arrive at!).

7. Letting go of worrying about running out of time to achieve my life work (because in fact, in the Universal scale of things, time is irrelevant and so everything happens perfectly according to a bigger plan!).

8. Letting go of my partner so that he would be free to stay with me by his own choice and not by duty or expectation, co-dependency in our relationship or the like.

So the energy I am gathering is that of acceptance, allowing and a higher radiance.

In her book Sacred Contracts, by Caroline Myss says:

"Every circumstance is an opportunity to surrender to the Divine in some way.Every act of surrender earns a timeless intervention: time is lessened and timelessness is increased in your energy field. Thought comes into form more rapidly when you are not dragging linear, chronological history (time): your energy is increased, your aging slows and your body creates health."

People who make timeless choices radiate energy, or charisma, drawing others into their field of Divine Protection, or faith made manifest.

Dense energy such as memories, attitudes, beliefs, history, life experiences, unfinished business, etc, is Lead: it affects the density of our biology - slows down the speed with which healthy cells processes normally work, increasing illness and weight.

Weight becomes Wait - you have to wait longer for change to occur, inadvertently delaying opportunities.

Healing facilitates the flow of energy that was pulling you into the past, returning this energy to the present time, where it enhances the vibration of your entire system. Healing challenges come from the stress produced from not pursuing your path/talents or not opening up emotionally to people so you allow key relationships to disintegrate. These challenges will help you consolidate the fragments of your psyche.

And this is, in a nutshell, what I am doing in Cape Town: acquiring highly refined energy and discarding time so that I can release my full potential and carry out the task that I was appointed for in this incarnation.

Rebuilding after Katrina: the smart energy Choices

Energy efficiency has been part of the American lexicon since 1978 when the Energy Policy Act was first enacted. Since then, energy efficient homes and increased use of renewable energy resources have become the norm in states like New York and California. Policies and programs have supported these statewide efforts while $847 million in federal funding has recently been allocated to help homeowners across America build better homes. Still, some parts of the country continued to use outmoded housing codes and practices even when it was no longer considered sustainable. The Gulf Coast region of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama was such a place. There is no way to know how many of the homes in the Gulf Coast region were inefficient prior to the hurricane. However, the gap between best practice and actual practice was revealed as Hurricane Katrina came ashore along the Gulf Coast and many Americans glimpsed the sub-standard housing that been the status quo in the region for years.

Yet in this disaster, there is an opportunity synchronous with recent changes in building policies. For example, in September 2005, the new Energy Policy Act was passed by Congress into law. The International Code Council (the ICC, an agency setting the standards for U.S. buildings) likewise upgraded its IECC 2006 codes for new homes . And the government-sponsored ENERGY STAR program of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) amended its guidelines for new homes in October 2005 . Luckily, the policies for a "right rebuild" are in place. Now, a sound financial justification for making "smart energy choices" is needed since 310,353 new single family homes must be built in the affected regions immediately.

By using a complex suite of DOE-2 modeling analyses along with climate, census, and emergency management data from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, this paper makes the case for an energy efficient rebuild. This modeling compared the impacts of rebuilding homes that may have been built to minimum building codes (as a baseline for comparison) versus four increasingly more energy-efficient standards . While the "quick payback" scenario illustrated the fastest payback considering the initial investment, the 2006 ENERGY STAR New Homes Guidelines showed the most reasonable short-term payback with larger savings over time. For example, the initial investment of $900 million to rebuild 310,353 homes to the ENERGY STAR guidelines would have a payback of just 7.5 years--much less than the term of the mortgage.

Due to the increased quality of the home and short return-on-investment, the ENERGY STAR scenario is recommended as the minimum threshold for single family homes during the rebuild. Additionally, the annual electricity savings (using this scenario) would avoid the equivalent of one South Carolina nuclear plant , and reduce greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to taking 51,221 cars off the roads.

On August 29, 2005, at 6:10 a.m., a Category 4 hurricane made landfall near Buras, Louisiana, with 145 mph winds. By 9:00 a.m., New Orleans' Lower Ninth District was under 8 feet of water and a path of destruction the size of the United Kingdom had been created and leaving 1.5 million people without power. The number of parishes affected in Louisiana was 31, in Mississippi 47 counties were affected, and in Alabama 8 counties saw damage to their single family housing units of 2.1 million. By October 2005, an estimated 2.2 million people had registered for aid from the Federal Energy Management Agency (FEMA) and 416,852 people were still without power in Texas and Louisiana .

An estimated 160,000 new single-family homes will need to be built in the coming months in New Orleans alone, with a grand total of 310,353 single family homes needing to be built in the three states.

Brief History of the Gulf Coast Areas' Single Family Housing

After the Civil War, men known as "carpet baggers" came into the Gulf Coast region, taking advantage of a ravaged countryside and its people. In the 140 years since the Civil War, the Gulf Coast region was populated and an estimated 2 million single family homes built in the affected region. By 2000, the average cost of those homes was $71,685, nearly $48,000 less than the average single-family home in America . These homes were not only cheaper than the typical U.S. house, they were also older, with an average build-date of 1975.

The people in the Gulf Coast areas affected by Hurricane Katrina were more vulnerable than the average populace in America. The percent of the population living on incomes at or below the poverty line in the parishes and counties affected by the hurricane was 19% of the population. The average age of those homes was not only three decades but the relative energy efficiency (as compared the national average) was lower than the norm. The Gulf Coast region hit by Hurricane Katrina had a history of lagging behind the rest of the country in terms of infrastructure, housing quality, and economic robustness. In short, the region was ripe for the kind of disaster the hurricane wrought.

After Hurricane Katrina, a new breed of "carpet baggers" set upon the Gulf Coast region, once again attempting to take advantage of a ravaged countryside and weary populace. But unlike the post-Civil War years, today's opportunists are local. Suppliers from drywall to roofing materials are inflating material costs and large-scale builders are vying to hire every able-bodied worker capable of swinging a hammer. Yet some large retailers are taking an active stewardship role in the reconstruction. For example, The Home Depot and its suppliers have partnered to donate nearly $1.2 million of products to those areas in need, along with $4 million in donations from the Home Depot Foundation . Meanwhile, Congress is seeking to pass bills to shield contractors from litigation that might result from workers in this polluted, dangerous area that is today's Gulf Coast. The time to anticipate the impacts of smarter choices for the rebuild is now.

Datasets and Modeling Software

Housing characteristics, including construction type, architectural characteristics, and quantity of construction from the 86 counties and parishes in the three hardest-hit states (Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama) were gleaned from 2000 Census Bureau data. Modelers established a baseline of what existed pre-Katrina using DOE-2 modeling software to compare the economic and environmental benefits of rebuilding in an energy efficient manner. For the ease of modeling a representative sample, only single-family homes units were considered since 67% of the homes destroyed were this housing type. Means Cost Data aided in modeling the "per unit cost to rebuild" each home for each scenario. NAHB data described the housing starts projections for 2005-2010 while additional economic characteristics for the region were gathered from the 2000 U.S. Census.

Codes and Standards

The codes climate in these three states gave a snapshot of what would be practical to expect during the rebuild. As of August 29, 2005, the local codes for energy efficiency in the three states were based on standards as recent as the year 2000 and as old as 1975 . However, recent code revisions have made an energy efficient rebuild possible. For example, the newly-revised IECC 2006 of the International Codes Council was considered in one scenario. And since the government-sponsored ENERGY STAR program of the EPA amended its New Homes Guidelines in October 2005 , and those guidelines are effective beginning January 1, 2006, those guidelines were considered as another scenario.

Options for the Gulf Coast Rebuild

Four scenarios were selected for modeling, against a baseline set at the Model Energy Code 1993 (MEC 93). In this baseline, it was assumed that all houses destroyed had indeed been constructed to a code standard that was approximately a decade old. Yet, as can be seen from a cursory review of the codes for these states, it is probable that many of these houses were not built to such a recent code. Nonetheless, the baseline was established as if the home had a window solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of 0.58, a wall R-value of 13, an attic R-value of 23, an air conditioner Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 10, and an estimated size of 2,000 s.f.

Using datasets of several thousand factors and applying those factors to the four basic upgrades in energy efficiency, researchers modeled 72,000 DOE-2 runs to characterize the impacts in two climate zones, and eight cities in the Gulf Coast region affected. This modeling provided the baseline for a "plain vanilla" single-family housing unit in the three states on August 29th, 2005, for comparison with four energy efficiency upgrades.

RESULTS

The estimated number of homes requiring demolition and rebuild has been estimated to be as many as 2.1 million single family homes. As mentioned, this study modeled only those homes utterly obliterated. It bears mentioning that the cost estimates for constructing new homes with these upgrades must be considered estimates only. The cost of materials, regional labor cost differences, the value of money, the cost of electricity or gas, and many other factors might affect these building costs and therefore, the simple payback period estimates.

With that disclaimer in mind, in terms of the "cost to upgrade", Scenario 4 proved to be the most expensive initial investment, at $6,003 per home. This initial cost put the simple payback period at about 12.5 years. Yet when this payback period is considered within the context of a 30-year mortgage, that return-on-investment appears more favorable. The next most costly upgrade was Scenario 3 (ENERGY STAR) at a cost $2,754 per home. Yet the ENERGY STAR scenario had a much quicker payback than Scenario 4 (Best Practices) or the less expensive option, Scenario 2 (IECC 2006). The simple payback period for Scenario 3 (ENERGY STAR) was just 7.5 years.

The lesser expensive option was Scenario 2, IECC 2006. This option cost an estimated $1,511 to upgrade the home, yet paid back the initial investment in 8.5 years. The most rapid return-on-investment was found to be the Quick Payback scheme outlined in Scenario 1. The initial investment of $527 paid for itself in just over 2 years. However, due to the lack of envelope and insulation considerations, the "quick payback" scenario is not recommended for the rebuild.

For the Gulf Coast rebuild, the opportunity to build energy efficient single family homes is clear: a "right rebuild" will have long-term benefits to the homeowners, the local utilities, the region, and the nation. For homeowners, building homes that have tight envelopes, good insulation, proper windows, and energy efficient equipment will reduce their monthly energy bills and increase the comfort and health of the occupants. The benefit of reduced energy bills cannot be understated. In present-day Mississippi, 34% of the household income pays the mortgage. The second-highest cost is energy bills.

As consumer energy bills rise, some regions are more challenged than others. For example, a study in North Carolina found that of every 100 trailers sold, 20 were repossessed. The problem was not mortgage costs that were too high, rather, the problem was that the monthly energy costs were more than the mortgage. With utility bills as high as $230 a month, the 30-year mortgage on a $25,000 mobile home was minor in comparison.

The fragility of the household incomes in the Gulf Coast region certainly plays a part in determining what ought to be re-built there. The average annual energy bills for the region were around $1,200. Scenario 3 (ENERGY STAR) returns a higher amount than the "Quick Payback" scenario, for example. For that, and other reasons, ENERGY STAR 2006 is the recommended threshold for the rebuild. In other words, there should be no single family home re-built with government-assisted funding that does not conform to the ENERGY STAR for New Homes Guidelines, as a minimum.

OTHER BENEFITS OF SMART ENERGY CHOICES

Load Reduction

The simple payback period for each rebuild scenario was calculated (based on incremental annual utility bill savings) without considering rising costs of electricity (which increased 3.3% in this region in the past year) or rises in crude oil prices (which rose 64% in the past year). In the recommended scenario (ENERGY STAR), an estimated 713 MW annually would be avoided, roughly equal to one nuclear power plant serving Hartsville, South Carolina . The increased benefits in savings for local power plants, and the environmental benefits (in an already-challenged region) would be reduced greenhouse gases in the form of CO2 equivalent to removing 51,221 cars from the roads . And for every 1 MW avoided, an estimated $1 million is saved, and similar savings are achievable in reduced distribution costs.

Better Health

As the rebuilding of the Gulf Coast continues, building energy efficient homes through the 2006 ENERGY STAR for New Homes Guidelines (along with the Indoor Air Package guidelines being piloted) ensure that occupants of these new homes will spend less on medical-related problems and mold-remediation costs long associated with poor construction techniques in hot, humid climates. When considering that indoor air pollution is responsible for one death every 20 seconds , and that the economic impacts of indoor pollution have been estimated at billions of dollars a year , spending a little more on each home to avoid these costs is money well-spent.

LEVERAGING LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL PROGRAMS OR TAX INCENTIVES

Louisiana Homeowners

Homeowners in Louisiana can access the Louisiana Home Energy Rebate Option (HERO) program, the Home Energy Loan Program (HELP), the Property Tax Exemption, or the Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) program for rebuilding assistance or tax incentives. In general, the HERO program only requires that homes be built 30% better than the 1995 MEC, an outdated standard; and its cash assistance amounts to an energy efficiency premium up to $2,000. The HELP program, a program of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, precludes a homeowner from participating in the HERO program and largely consists of home improvement loans to make energy-related improvements to existing homes.

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) offers to finance half of the improvements at 2% interest, up to a maximum of $6,000 on the DNR portion. Property tax exemptions are available for owner-occupied home equipment that is energy efficient. The QAP program awards points to projects that include energy efficient products, including windows, doors, HVAC, and appliances.

The government should make these budgets available for leverage in the rebuilding efforts.

Mississippi Homeowners

Mississippi's homeowners can access the Energy Rated Homes of Mississippi Program or the Green Power Switch Generation Partners Program for rebuilding assistance. In the former, five levels of energy efficiency are given to homes, based on the Uniform Energy Rating System. The benefits to the homeowners are unclear. The Green Power Switch Generation Partners Program, a program under the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and participating distributors. Under this program, homeowners are offered a dual-metering option. Homeowners may generate power, feeding excess back to the grid. TVA will purchase the entire output of a qualifying system and the homeowner receives credit for the power generated.

The government should make these budgets available for leverage in the rebuilding efforts.

Alabama Homeowners

Alabama homeowners may access the Income Tax Credit Program, the State Grant Program, or the Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) program for rebuilding or tax credit incentives. In general, Alabama homeowners can receive an income tax credit for converting their main energy source for a home to renewable energy resources (for heating only). The State Grant Program is directed largely at biomass projects for industrial and commercial enterprises; and it is unclear if the government will consider rebuilding residential areas as a "government" program that would be eligible to use this program. Primarily, the program gives assistance in the form of loans with interest rates no higher than 2% above the prime rate (with maximum interest subsidy payment amount not to exceed $75,000). The QAP program awards points for projects that promote energy conservation by exceeding standards of the Council of the American Building Officials Model Energy Code (MEC).

The government should make these budgets available for leverage in the rebuilding efforts.

Federal Legislation that Aids Homeowners in All Three States

The most effective financing tool available to homeowners in all Gulf Coast regions affected by the hurricane may be found in the recent federal legislation of the U.S. government. On August 8, 2005, the Energy Policy Act of 2005 was enacted. This law includes various sections related to enhancing the energy use of citizens and industry. Among the Act's components are tax credits for energy efficiency. If homeowners along the Gulf Coast opt to build energy efficiently, they will receive incentives to do so. Were homeowners to build to 2006 ENERGYSTAR for New Homes Guidelines are recommended, homeowners could receive tax incentives. Unlike the state or local programs (cited above), the federal budget allocation is substantial: $50 million per year through FY2008.

For builders of new homes, the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (Section 1332) provides a credit up to $2,000 for a home that saves at least 50% compared to the 2004 IECC code , and $1,000 for an ENERGYSTAR manufactured home. The applicable dates for these incentives are calendar years 2006 and 2007.

For owners of existing homes, the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (Section 1333) includes a credit for homeowners for 10% of the cost of installing building envelope components consistent with the IECC code. There is no certification required. The credits are available for calendar years 2006 and 2007.

The home tax credit has an overall per household cap of $500 to reimburse homeowners for the following expenses:

o 10% of the cost for energy efficient insulation, doors, and/or ENERGYSTAR high reflectivity roofs

o 10% (up to $200) of the full cost of energy efficient windows

o Up to $300 of the full cost for purchasing a highly-efficient central air conditioner, furnace, heat pump, or water heater

o Up to $150 of the full cost of a highly-efficient furnace or boiler, and

o Up to $50 of the full cost of a furnace with a highly-efficient fan.

Favorable Mortgage Rates for Rebuilding in the Gulf Coast Region

As homeowners in the affected areas seek to rebuild, they will look for mortgage rates that will help them build homes they can afford to operate. In Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama "energy efficient mortgages" (or EEMs) are available through agencies like Fannie Mae. In Louisiana and Mississippi, these mortgages are available from EnergyWise Mortgage and Indigo Financial Group. In Alabama, these mortgages may be obtained from American Acceptance Mortgage, EnergyWise Mortgage, or the Indigo Financial Group. In general terms, EEMs allow homeowners to borrow funds to make energy improvements at the time of purchase of a home. The average annual savings to homeowners is $300 to $600. Fannie Mae should extend the EEMs to rebuilding homes damaged during the hurricane.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1) The 2006 ENERGY STAR for New Homes Guidelines are the recommended threshold for all new single family homes construction undertaken during the rebuild.

2) State and local incentives should be leveraged for all new homes construction during the rebuild.

3) Federal tax credits and federal funding should be leveraged for all new homes construction during the rebuild to multiply the impacts.

4) EEMs programs (and other similar initiatives) should be extended to include new homes construction needed for the rebuild.

5) The financial benefits that accrue due to "smart energy choices" taken during the rebuild should be tracked to build a larger case for energy efficient development and subsequent mass deployment of energy efficient practices.

This research demonstrates that the decisions made in the coming months will impact the economics and resources of households, utilities, the region, and the nation for several decades to come. As power suppliers struggle to rebuild damaged infrastructure like power distribution systems, and every local provider of materials and manpower is stretched to its limits, there is no better time to reduce the eventual load on manpower and infrastructure than now. Homeowners will benefit from reduced energy bills while area builders will find a whole new business model in setting themselves apart from "plain vanilla" builders as they position themselves as ENERGY STAR builders.

Of course, rebuilding an area this large will not be easy. But as this study proves, rebuilding single family housing to an energy efficiency standard that is higher than what it was makes sound economic sense and forms the most coherent strategy for creating a sustainable re-construction. The incentives under the new tax credits bill, energy efficient mortgages, and state-centered incentives and financing--when supplemented with federal funds for the rebuild--only add to the financial benefits of making smart energy choices in the Gulf Coast rebuild. Even without these benefits, rebuilding the 310,353 homes to ENERGY STAR standards would be an investment that pays for itself quickly, and returns another $3.2 billion dollars into the local economy in just 30 years. Imagine what might be gained by making similarly intelligent energy choices for the other 2.1 million new homes needing to be built.

Mysterious energy audit found

The word audit has sent cold shivers down the spine of many a business executive in the past, yet undeservedly so, because after all is an audit not simply a business check to see if all is well?

The Energy Audit is perhaps the most misunderstood, and therefore the least utilized of all Australian business tools. This is so even though the quality of its procedure has been covered by Australian Standard 3598 for quite some time now.

It is now many years ago that a handful of interested engineers joined with some visionary business executives to establish a standardized means of reversing the effect of their ever-spiraling electricity/gas bills. The Energy Audit was born and since then a slowly increasing number of Australian businesses have become aware of this valuable tool which shows them how to substantially reduce their recurring business expenses for energy bills for electricity and gas permanently, thereby bumping their bottom line and putting them ahead of their competition.

What exactly is an energy audit?

The Energy Efficiency consultant examines and analyzes the accuracy of all energy bills over the last two years, and the economy of the related electricity/gas charge rates, and also examines the energy efficiency of the building structures, plus all energy consuming equipment within, together with all energy consuming practices.

The consultant then prepares a comprehensive Energy Audit Report which makes custom-designed, point-by-point recommendations for all energy efficient improvements to ensure lower electricity bills/gas bills, permanently.

Erwin Tischler, an electrical engineer, is the business owner of RE Developments Company in NSW an energy efficiency consultancy which specializes in energy audits. He works in consultation with Angelo Franco, a specialist mechanical engineer and says

"An Australia-wide, Federal Government survey of a large sample of energy audits, of all size businesses a few years ago, showed that savings identified an average of 20% of energy bills. If one extrapolates this statistic across our vast continent, we arrive at the unbelievable fact that Australian businesses are currently paying billions more than what is necessary for their electricity/gas bills, and are therefore also contributing to the unnecessary emission of an equally staggering amount of greenhouse gases.

However things are changing, public opinion appears to reshaping business decisions. We have noticed a recent ground swell of interest in Energy Audits over the last 12 months, because not only do such audits identify substantial savings in energy bills, they also identify the all important related savings in greenhouse gas emissions which cause climate change through global warming. We now see that it is the environmental factor that drives many businesses - equally with monetary savings."

What can an audit achieve?

Case Study: The graph shows the energy-escalating effects of an air conditioning control system that had accidentally malfunctioned; this fact was recently reported in an energy audit for a medium size office block in Parramatta NSW.

What happened? Their large, central air conditioning system was meant to operate from 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday, but instead was operating 24/7 without anyone being aware of it for six months (see the pink trend line).

An Energy Audit identified this and found that the offender was a faulty 24 hour time clock control which cost the business $750 to replace, and then saved them around $30,000 per annum on future, inflated energy bills.

Energy savings achieved also equated to an annual cut-back of around 300,000 kg of carbon dioxide gas emissions.

Without graphical analysis which checked back 2 years, such gradual energy increases may have gone unnoticed permanently, thereby costing the building owner not only a fortune on future electricity bills, and related greenhouse emissions, but also skyrocketing their future air conditioning maintenance costs.

The findings on all types of commercial premises indicate that the above example is not rare, and is the norm rather than the exception.

Why is this so? A building is the same as a car, its energy-consuming equipment can go slowly out of tune, yet it can still appear to be driving quite well, even though fuel consumption is dramatically increasing. Similarly a building can appear to have adequate lighting and adequate air conditioning and an adequate work production line, but may be performing very badly on the energy-efficiency scale.

Never-the-less the building owner (or their agent) faithfully keeps on paying the grossly inflated bills year after year, completely oblivious to the fact that they are literally throwing away $100,000's every year in a large business.

The energy auditor can pick such problems by checking the equipment, the related control systems and methods of use and then comparing the building's energy use against established industry energy benchmarks for the particular category of business (e.g. energy used / sq m / annum).

Energy Audits can often identify savings well in excess of the 20% national average by identifying out-dated, energy controls and out-dated energy consuming equipment in older buildings and then making technical recommendations for its gradual replacement in accordance with the latest, best-practice methods. This in effect, largely updates the old building to the energy efficiency status of a new building.

A couple of recent examples are 2 to 4 level office blocks at Lithgow and Wollongong, for which the Energy Audits identified electricity bill savings of 48% and 75% respectively through the gradual renewal of aging lighting and air conditioning services.

Maintenance Savings

An additional benefit from saving energy, which is often overlooked, is a substantial reduction in recurring maintenance costs. This is brought about by the side effect of energy savings, which usually involves an induced reduction in the unnecessary run hours of equipment, and the fact that some equipment is also run at a much reduced capacity, therefore appliances, lights, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and production plants etc last much longer before needing maintenance.

When one then adds maintenance savings to energy savings, the returns from investing in energy saving measures become very lucrative indeed.

Safety Aspect

Erwin says that yet an additional benefit is the fact that, during the audit, the building and the building services are inspected by professional engineers who are capable of recognizing and reporting on any potentially dangerous situations in buildings and building services.

Nowadays, under current OH&S Regulations, the Energy Auditor is seen as a professional observer and is therefore legally obliged to report any obvious, potentially dangerous situations, irrespective of whether or not these situations directly relate to the work for which they have been commissioned.

Case study: While checking for air conditioning energy savings, Angelo Franco recently reported on a particular building's air conditioning heaters that could have caused fires. The heaters were unlawfully hidden in the ceiling voids and were mounted, unenclosed, directly near flammable materials. This was literally a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

Business Intelligence

Finally, energy audits can reveal historical production information as well. Modern, electronic electricity meters for larger facilities now actually radio energy data back to the energy supplier, continually on a half-hourly basis 24/7 (there are no more meter readers). The energy auditor can access this valuable information in the form of an excel spreadsheet file and can produce energy consumption graphs from this data for any day in the past, or for any hour of any day in the past.

This intelligence information can reveal the exact production capacity at which a business was operating at any day, or any hour of any day, up to two years ago.

Case study: During a recent energy audit of a manufacturer in NSW, the energy auditor produced daily energy consumption graphs showing that, during some weekends, the whole plant was operating at production capacities that were well under the CEO's instructions.

Management liked the energy and maintenance savings identified by the energy audit, but they were even more interested in the coincidental information on production intelligence, which they thought was a very welcome bonus thrown in. The intermittent monitoring of energy graphs appears to have added a whole new dimension to the subject of internal business intelligence.

The Karma Clearing Process begins with the removal of all Energy Blockages from the energetic system of a human being. Wilhelm Reich called it the Emotional Armor. These are the little stiffnesses which cause us so much pain in massage. Energy Blockages exist in the mental, emotional and physical bodies... Even in the spiritual bodies.

Energy Blockages split us so as we remove them through advanced and effective meditation techniques so we become more integrated, more solid.

Removing energy blockages from our spiritual bodies will allow us to access our hearts and our conscience, it will allow us to access our soul, our soul path in life, without which life has no meaning.

Removing energy blockages from the mind, the mental body, allows more energy to flow, we become more brilliant. Our minds become clear, our IQ increases and more.. We obtain the power of persistence which enables us to accomplish anything!

Removing energy blockages from the emotions allows more energy to flow, we become more stable. Our emotions become clear, our emotional IQ increases and more.. We obtain the power of having only positive emotions which enables us to radiate love, the energy of change and to access the will!

Removing energy blockages from the body allows more energy to flow, we become more energetic. Our bodies become clear of disease and pain, our energy increases and more.. We obtain the power of flexibility and strength which enables us to live longer and with more pleasure, more quality of life!

And what is that uneasiness within?

Just what is that tension which we find inside?

It is pure spiritual energy which has somehow become perverted by painful traumatic experience. It is energy which has been transmuted by some painful experience into pain, that encapsulated pain which we hold inside us or absorb from people and places on this planet. It is energy blockages which makes us feel uneasy and tense.

All the pain caused negative energy blockages which we hold inside are called the selfish competitive ego.

And because we all have been painfully perverting this pure spiritual energy into encapsulated negative energy or energy blockages for thousands of years, this world is filled with that perverted negative energy as energy blockages which we absorb from everything and everyone around us.

It is that pain and tension inside, those energy blockages which causes us to do all the bad things in this world. It is that pain and tension inside, those energy blockages which causes all the bad things in this world to happen to us, we call the bad things, all the bad luck to us. We are accidents waiting to happen. This is karma.

Body stiffness, niggles and pain cause Illness and disease.

Negative emotions, mood swings, wrong thinking, jealousy, prejudice, hatred, anger, fear are all caused perverted spiritual energy encapsulated as energy blockages. The "Mind filled manacles of fear" as said Blake.

Splitnesses in the mind, blocked minds, unclear and plain wrong thinking. Heartless mind solutions caused by selfishly wanting to gain something to the detriment of someone else, the "final solution" of Hitler for example. If we have a lot of these negative energy blockages within ourselves it will cause us to give up easily, a lack of energy, a lack of goodness and heart and soul.

It will cause us to lose our trust and our faith in the essential goodness of people and our teachers. We will project all our negativity onto them and begin to see them through the dark glasses of our negative experiences. Through the darkness of the negative energy which we hold inside.

We create this negative energy inside. And as we evolve we gain the ability to absorb more of this negativity from the people around us and from our surroundings. We gain the power to hold on to more of this negativity without being affected by it. However, the straw that broke the camels back always comes. At this point we become open to wanting to know how to remove and transmute energy blockages. How to change negative energy into pure positive spiritual energy again.

When we enter into the Buddhafield of Energy which surrounds the enlightened we start to feel and lose this Negative energy from inside us. These are the symptoms of Kundalini energy usually.

Because an enlightened master has the ability radiate pure positive spiritual energy as well as to absorb and transmute this negative energy back into pure spiritual energy, a spiral of transmutation, a column of pure transmutation, the Buddhafield, surrounds him and enters into his surroundings.

As you people upon the verge of enlightenment walk around, as well as creating your own negative energy, you absorb likewise the negative energies of people and places. The symptoms of this are your illnesses, your negative emotions of anger and fear, your mood swings and your feelings of negativity.

The only difference between you people on the verge of enlightenment and a master is that a master knows how to transmute the energy he absorbs. And thus he is surrounded by peace and harmony instead of more and more pain and negativity..

He does not curse the darkness. Instead he lights a candle.

The only difference between you and a master is that a master knows how to teach you how to transmute this negative energy into harmonious spiritual energy, and thus place you on the path of peace and harmony, the path of enlightenment itself.

He only needs to teach you how to look at the negative energy. He only needs to teach you how to see it and deal with it. Because anything else is painful. And will cause you to do more painful things. Because this negative energy is Karma itself.

THUS THE KARMA CLEARING PROCESS, THE SOURCE OF ALL TRUE FORGIVENESS.

Spiritual masters are not affected by Karma and indeed have no Karma. Because they have the psychic ability to transmute all karma into pure spiritual energy. And this pure spiritual energy builds up in them and is added to by their masters when they die. So that they are rich because they have a large bank balance of Pure positive spiritual energy to spend on their students. This is called Positive karma.

Because the first stage is the access to purity by transmuting all the pain, which travels with us from lifetime to lifetime and grows more and more each lifetime because like calls to like, inside. To he that has, more will be given, said the Christ.

So we need to learn how to go against this law of the gaining of karma and negative energy and energy blockages by understanding and using the grounding of negative energies, the Third Initiation of Energy Enhancement.

And then the second part comes. Once we have transmuted this negativity inside to a certain degree, it then becomes possible to absorb more positive spiritual energy from the masters bank balance.

The Master can send it to you with a glance. We absorb energy from the Master. The Hindus call it the Uppadesa or the Initiation of the Master, and it is said to come by glance, by touch, or in silence.

Until we learn how to do it for ourselves from the Universe.

And once you start transmuting negative energy by using the techniques of Energy Enhancement every day. Once you start to access your inner purity... To he that has not, it will all be taken away, said the Christ. Yes, all the negativity will be taken away.

And this is the Real Initiation or in the Zen Phrase, Satori. And after many Satoris, you then eventually become in the Hindu Phrase, Twice Born, in the Sufi Phrase, a Made Man, You have made your Bones.

PEACEFUL.

HARMONIOUS.

ENLIGHTENED.

All with a glance.

All with learning how to open our eyes.

All with the gaining of Psychic Vision.

You are the people who have no other choice but to absorb negativity and die, or learn how to transmute it and learn how to Live. Because this knowledge is more important than life and death. It is for those of you who want to attain a Soul.

Start your Karma Cleaning Process by learning how to meditate and then speed it up with the advanced techniques of Energy Enhancement based upon ancient effective techniques of Taoism, The Kundalini Kriyas, The five elemental circulations of the Qi of Chinese Alchemical Taoism, The Guided Meditation of the Emerald tablet of Hermes Trismegistus encapsulated in VITRIOL and more..

The Mystical Aspects and Properties of Dark Energy

Dark energy can be sensed throughout nature as a wonderful, blissful and uplifting phenomenon often associated with spiritual experiences, storms, waterfalls, natural open spaces, plants and trees. Buildings and other man-made objects, pollution and technology tend to block this energy. Interesting to note that while enclosed areas seem to reduce it, open spaces seem to increase it, yet is it possibly the same thing the controversial German scientist Wilhelm Reich tried to accumulate in orgone energy accumulators? Dark energy (prana) is the kinetic energy behind all creation which comes out from infinite space as a result of its process of self-awareness. It can be heard in the right ear as the "Om" sound or "birthing sound" of creation and as many other inner sounds according to one's sensitivity.

Dark energy could very likely be the same phenomena known throughout various cultures and/or religions such as orgone, chi, prana, Prakriti (Divine Mother), the Holy Spirit, and the power behind the manifestation of thought. It is interesting to note that this dark energy, being as universal as it is, could very well be one of the three components of the Trinity, the "Holy Ghost" or the Hindu "Vishnu" as the Sustainer of creation. The other two aspects are the "Infinite Father" which would be an infinite non-manifested aspect of creation while the "Son" would be the manifested aspect (offspring) of creation including all the universes both physical and subtle.

Such energy is uplifting! Just as there are gravity waves in the universe there are also antigravity waves that emanate directly from dark energy because dark energy is a universal form of antigravity. Yogis who claim to have experienced levitation would most likely feel that prana or chi is a form of antigravity. Some masters of yoga are able to gather so much prana or chi energy within themselves that they allegedly start to "hop" off the ground and in some cases even claim to levitate! This effect and other so called "miracles" are so rare, that mainstream science, of course, has not yet accepted any of it nor anything I say regarding the connection between dark energy and spiritual energy. Breatharian yogis can use this energy to "live on light" while going on very long fasts.

Is Thought a Zero Point Energy Fluctuation?

I have a theory as to what the subtle thought "sounds" in one's head could be. It is highly probable that they are intelligently guided pulsations or vibrations of this quantum, universally present (free) energy stored in the brain and crown chakra. The human being's vortices (or vortexes) of energy (all the chakras and meridians of the astral body) naturally gather, concentrate and then store this spiritual or dark energy into a form that can be used for any purpose. If thoughts really are a sort of quantum fluctuation (change in probability) powered by dark energy through the mind, then it should be possible to detect very slight changes or fluctuations with a sensitive instrument specially designed to interpret them and then even listen to and/or record those thoughts!

Can Zero Point Energy Be Harnessed to Communicate with the Afterlife?

This energy is most likely the only way possible to communicate with the afterlife! If thought waves are actually just minute vibrations of quantum energy (with antigravity properties) from dark energy or Spirit, then it may very well be possible to create a spirit telephone by a microphone directly attached to a highly sensitive weighing scale or some device that is able to interpret intentionally guided fluctuations in the quantum field or white noise.

Can Zero Point Energy Be Heard?

According to The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe this dark energy can be picked up as a "fuzzy" sound (or white background noise) when FM radios are tuned between stations or when the volume on one's compact disk and/or cassette player is turned up all the way between songs. More interestingly, when it is really quiet, one can also hear this sound (or white noise) in various frequencies within the inner ear. These are the sounds of the chakras, the Om, and of the inner voice. Those who are sensitive can do an interesting comparison of how the brain interprets these inner sounds verses how electronic amplifiers pick it up as a rushing white noise. One can ponder how eons of evolution has been affected or influenced by this energy and how quantum physics may very well be the main force behind the ability for evolutionary change and development both spiritual and physical.

Can Zero Point Energy Be Seen and Can it Nourish One's Soul?

Spirits see by the "light" of this dark energy which is no longer "dark" to them but is perceived as a universal, very loving and refreshing radiance that illuminates everything in the universe including both physical and astral matter depending on what vibration of matter they are tuned into. Whatever lives on the astral planes are dependent on this dark energy for vitality, light, sustenance and nourishment. It is the reason spirits do not necessarily have to eat (astral food) or at least only at first just after passing over until they realize that this energy can and does sustain and rejuvenate them in all ways indefinitely. Even astral food contains a form of this energy that nature in the astral worlds has stored in the form of astral food, drinks, fruits, herbs and vegetables.

Could Dark Energy Be Related to Paranormal Phenomena?

Dark energy is the force by which poltergeists move objects and cause other disturbances. At the time of Thomas Edison's death, all his clocks stopped. This was a deliberate, conscious attempt by his spirit to try to prove survival of his soul to others. Souls can sometimes move or manipulate physical objects, especially delicate ones such as clocks by using a thought-directed power with dark energy as its source. The charming and delightful Scottish spirit, Dorcas was once an earthbound Scottish poltergeist over two-hundred years ago in Dundee, Scotland and claimed in 1964 during a Leslie Flint seance that she still can under the right conditions move physical objects as long as the energy of a young person is present. This must mean that a young person can channel much more prana or dark energy that can be used by a ghost than a less vital, older person. Remembering that dark energy is an expansive, anti-gravitational force helps to explain how some ghosts or spirits are able to make objects float or move through the air. I am quite confident that dark energy plays a huge role in providing the power that creates the ectoplasm that amplifies thought into sound so that spirits like Dorcas can "come through."

In Conclusion: Dark Energy is One of Three Aspects of Existence

Dark energy, a term coined by astronomers to label that "mysterious" energy that 70% the universe consists of, is no more mysterious than the Casimir effect. However, 100% of all matter and light in the universe cannot even begin to exist without the universal, zero-point or quantum (five-dimensional) field from which all dark energy and all other forms of energy and matter emanate. All baryonic (physical) matter, dark (astral) matter, and electromagnetic radiation in the universe is one and the same as zero-point energy, because electromagnetic radiation consists of five-dimensional fluctuations in the zero-point energy field, and all matter is made of highly concentrated electromagnetic radiation. In other words, the entire universe and all life within it is one and the same as the quantum field of five and higher dimensions. The multi-dimensional geometry of the vacuum (or universal oneness) is the primary cause, substance, and sustainer of all matter.

The phenomenon of zero-point energy may be the one and same effect as the "Light of God," which, of course is not at all a "dark energy" to those who are fully spiritually aware. Dark energy is just as real, familiar, and ubiquitous to enlightened mystics as is water to fish at the bottom of an ocean. Yogis like to say that this universal (zero point) energy is part and parcel of a Trinity of creation consisting of (1) the "Divine Mother" (Holy Spirit) or prime mover of and primary energy of all creation; (2) "God the Father" or universal blueprint (thought and universal consciousness) behind all creation; and (3) the "Son" or the "Manifested World" or "Offspring" of the "Infinite Father" and "Divine Mother" (Holy Spirit). Sri Ramakrisha, a great mystic yogi introduced to the West by Swami Vivekananda once said that the world is the emanation of God.

Only because I know that the actual complexity of the universe goes way beyond the present borders of science, that I don't mind sounding a little religious. I also like to express the principle of universal creation in a very simple "undefined" mathematical equation: the strongest infinity times nothing: 1/0 X 0 = 0/0 = Reality. Because any number can go into it, anything may come out of it. This universal "Oneness" or "God" is a "substance" or "awareness" that cannot be defined, yet the entire reality comes from this one "substance."
